Forged by our family's pioneering spirit, Mecca Grade Estate Malt is the missing ingredient in your beer: a malt of uncompromising character and complexity, created for brewers and beer lovers alike.
For generations, "The best or nothing at all" has been our family's guiding philosophy.
It's what lead us across the country by covered wagon, and drove us to thrive no matter the endeavor ever since. We never compromise. We never back down from a challenge. We never stray from our tradition of fearless innovation and unparalleled quality.
Today, we carry on the pioneering spirit by creating the finest malts money can buy, all from our family farm in Central Oregon.
Mecca Grade is an estate malthouse located on 1,000 irrigated acres in Madras, Oregon.
A grain growers' paradise, our location in the rainshadow of the Cascades provides hot, dry days and cool nights perfect for growing speciality seed and grain.
Much like a vineyards' location determines the character of its' grape varietals, our grains are unique to Mecca Grade due to their uniform growth within a 2-mile radius of the malthouse. As such, our malts are truly unlike anything else available.
Inspired by tradition and driven by our uncompromising spirit, we've innovated an entirely new process for creating Mecca Grade's line of artisan malts. Combining time-honored methods with modern technology, we produce the most flavorful malts available via a process we call "Mechanical Floor-Malting"
Within our Mechanical Floor-Malter...a one-of-a-kind machine of our own invention...shallow grainbeds in perpetual motion allow us to soak, stir, and kiln our grains to perfection; delivering malts of unrivaled consistency and bursting with character.
